The New Rock 083 Tank is a striking black leather ankle boot built around an exaggerated platform and stacked block heel, designed for anyone who wants serious presence underfoot. The upper is made up of several stitched leather panels — a toe cap seam, curved vamp seam and rear quarter panel — each finished with visible black topstitching that runs into the welt trim around the sole unit, giving the boot a hand-built, considered look rather than a plain slab of leather.

Fastening is via eight pairs of round metal eyelets and flat black laces finished with logo-stamped metal aglets, backed up by a concealed zip on the medial side with a metal pull for quicker on-off wear without loosening the lacing each time. A woven pull-tab at the rear heel, printed with New Rock's "Shoemaking Tradition Since 1929" branding, adds a nice detail for anyone tugging the boot on.

The standout feature is the sole: a heavily built platform segmented into ridged, tyre-tread-style sections with circular and rectangular cut-outs, held together with visible silver-coloured Phillips-head screws, and separated from the chunky stacked heel by a waisted midsection.
