Golden Goose was founded in Venice in 2000 by Francesca and Alessandro Gallo, who set out to create trainers that looked like they had a history rather than having just been bought. The deliberate distressing, hand applied star patches and scuffed leather finish that define every Golden Goose pair are applied individually by hand in the brand's Italian factory, meaning no two pairs come out exactly the same. The Superstar is the signature style — a low profile leather trainer with a side star in suede or leather — and it has built a global following since its introduction.

The brand sits at the premium end of the trainer market and the quality of construction reflects that. Leather uppers, metal aglet laces, rubber outsoles and hand finished detailing make these among the most tactile and individual trainers in the range here. Sizes run from a UK 3 to a UK 12.
